Board Member

Shannon Tillet brings a wealth of experience and dedication to her role as a board member at SisterLove, Inc. With over 15 years of service as the Coordinator for HIV/AIDS/HCV Prevention & Education at Cobb County Community Services Board, Shannon is a committed advocate for public health, particularly in HIV prevention and education.

Shannon holds a Bachelor's degree in Sociology from Kean University and is an Internationally, Nationally, and State Certified Substance Abuse Counselor. Her extensive background in social services, crisis intervention, and public speaking has equipped her with the skills necessary to lead and innovate in her field.

As an HIV Early Intervention Specialist, Shannon coordinates confidential rapid HIV/HCV testing, pre/post counseling, and referrals for medical care. She develops and implements outreach activities tailored to community needs, conducting free testing and educational sessions at health fairs, college campuses, churches, and other community venues. Her work is instrumental in improving care and reducing health disparities.

Shannon's role extends to writing and updating policies on confidentiality in compliance with federal and state laws. She also conducts drug and alcohol abuse assessments, providing care recommendations based on ASAM criteria and DSM-5 assessments.

Beyond her professional commitments, Shannon is an active board member of SisterLove, Inc., and Director of Research & Marketing at Spark United. Her contributions to these organizations highlight her dedication to advancing health equity and community engagement.
